Clean Medic / 13 Okt 2023

Friday is a bright day, as usual. CLEAN MEDIC INDUS, a startup in the medical waste management in Bali, has become an integral part of many lives, including I Putu Agus Darma Setiawan, a driver who has been working with the company for 8.5 months. We caught up with Putu to hear his story about being a driver at CLEAN MEDIC INDUS and gain his insights into his responsibilities and contributions.

Good morning, Putu. Thank you for taking the time to speak with us today. Could you tell us about your role in our company? Putu: Good morning of course, I’m happy to share my experiences. I work as a driver, and my primary responsibility is to collect and transport medical waste from healthcare premises to decontamination plant, with all the constraint given the regulation on infectious waste transportation.

That sounds interesting, Putu. What are the biggest challenges you face while working at CLEAN MEDIC INDUS? Putu: The most significant challenge is when the road conditions are congested. Since we often need to transport medical waste in containers, I sometimes find myself trapped in severe traffic jams. Additionally, finding parking spots near producer locations can be problematic. Some places are very crowded, so I need to be patient and creative in finding a safe parking spot.

That must indeed be challenging. However, there must be moments that make you happy. What is the best experience you’ve had while working at CLEAN MEDIC INDUS? Putu: I’m happy when I meet medical waste producers who are incredibly friendly. They always offer smiles and support, making me feel appreciated as a part of the team working to safeguard the environment and public health. Such experiences are truly uplifting for me.

That must be an extraordinary experience. Nonetheless, there must also be tough times. What is the most difficult experience you've encountered? Putu: The most challenging experience is when I have to deliver medical waste to producer locations in heavy traffic conditions. The travel time can be extensive, and at times, I feel trapped inside the vehicle.

I can imagine how tough that can be. How do you deal with such situations? Putu: I've learned to stay calm and patient. I communicate with the CLEAN MEDIC INDUS team, and we work together to find solutions. Additionally, I always ensure I have an accurate map, so I don't get lost when trying to reach hard-to-access producer locations.

That's a wise approach. Lastly, what are your hopes for CLEAN MEDIC INDUS in the future? Putu: I hope that CLEAN MEDIC INDUS will become the largest medical waste management company in Bali and gain recognition at a national and international level. I also hope the company will continue to be environmentally conscious and provide quick, real-time, easy-access, and instant solutions for our customers.

Thank you very much, Putu, for your time and your story. We hope all your hopes for CLEAN MEDIC INDUS come true. Keep working with that enthusiasm!

Friday's interview with Putu, a driver at CLEAN MEDIC INDUS, reveals the challenges and rewards of his job in managing medical waste in Bali. Despite facing road and location challenges, his enthusiasm for supporting an environmentally-conscious company shine through. CLEAN MEDIC INDUS looks forward to continuous growth and becoming a better solution in the future.
