CMI Interview Series: Ruth Faleria Tengker (Business Development Manager)

As this week comes to a close, we're thrilled to spotlight  Ruth Faleria Tengker as the new Business Development Manager at CLEAN MEDIC INDUS.

She brings an extensive 7-year background in the health-tech industry, specialising in B2B sales. Ruth will give us insights into her strategies for propelling Clean Medic Indus to new heights in business development.

I've been lucky to discuss with her what aspects of the company she finds particularly rewarding, based in Bali, Indonesia, as a pioneering startup that is transforming the landscape of medical waste management with its cutting-edge digital platform.

Ruth, can you tell us about Clean Medic Indus and how it's changing medical waste management in Bali?

Ruth: Clean Medic Indus is a startup in Bali, Indonesia, that is revolutionizing medical waste management through digital technology. Our platform offers healthcare facilities a complete solution to handle medical waste safely, efficiently, and sustainably. We're proud to be Indonesia's first company offering this solution, and it's making a positive impact in our local community.

What inspired you to join Clean Medic Indus, and what do you enjoy most about your role as Business Development Manager?

Ruth: I joined Clean Medic Indus because I saw an opportunity to make a meaningful difference. Bali faces a significant medical waste issue, and our platform offers an innovative and eco-friendly solution. As Business Development Manager, I love collaborating with our team to identify new opportunities for growth. Witnessing more healthcare facilities in Bali adopting our platform is incredibly fulfilling.

What are some of the challenges you face while growing Clean Medic Indus, and how do you address them?

Ruth: One major challenge is changing people's views on medical waste management. In Bali, many healthcare facilities are used to traditional disposal methods like landfills. Convincing them that our digital platform is safer and more sustainable can be tough. To overcome this, we focus on educating these facilities about the platform's benefits and provide the necessary resources for a smooth transition.

What are your plans for Clean Medic Indus in the future, and how do you envision the company's growth?

Ruth: Our future plans involve expanding our presence across Bali and eventually throughout Indonesia. We'll also keep enhancing our platform's user-friendliness and efficiency for healthcare facilities. In the long term, we aim to become a leader in sustainable medical waste management, not only in Indonesia but across Southeast Asia and beyond.
